Joint Visit to National Union of Disability Organizations of Rwanda (NUDOR) with Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf .
The two clubs collaborated to donate a range of assistive devices—including wheelchairs, crutches, walking sticks, and white canes—to individuals supported by the National Union of Disability Organizations of Rwanda (NUDOR). This contribution aims to enhance mobility, independence, and dignity among people living with disabilities, many of whom face daily challenges in accessing essential mobility aids.
This cross-border humanitarian effort not only reflects Rotary’s enduring motto of Service Above Self but also reinforces the spirit of cooperation between Uganda and Rwanda in advancing inclusive development. Speaking during the handover ceremony in Kigali, representatives from both Rotary clubs emphasized that the initiative emerged from a shared commitment to bridge support gaps for marginalized groups across East Africa.
“This partnership is a testament to the power of unity beyond borders,” said a representative from the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf. “By working together, we can ensure that no one is left behind, regardless of physical limitations.”
Beneficiaries, represented by NUDOR, extended heartfelt thanks to both clubs for their generosity, expressing hope that more organizations would join the drive to improve the lives of persons with disabilities across the continent.
Through such joint actions, the Rotary movement continues to show that compassion knows no borders — and that collective service remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives.
